Recently, we supported an organisation in the food and beverage space by identifying and delivering practical energy efficiency and resilience improvements across their operations. Through a detailed energy efficiency audit, we found ways to optimise high consumption systems across refrigeration, boilers, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and controls, unlocking 23.7 TJ of energy savings and $595,000 of annual energy cost savings. In parallel, we assessed the future resilience needs and developed a Microgrid solution combining solar PV, battery storage, generators and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), designed to ensure continuity of critical refrigeration loads during outages. Together, these actions will improve operational efficiency, reduce energy risk and strengthen the site’s long-term resilience and sustainability performance.
